Sustainability to screw

Together with the manufacturer PANO, Zentis will be the first jam producer in Germany to use CO2-reduced bluemint® steel for their screw cap.
When it comes to climate protection, one factor is particularly important: smart cooperation at all levels. Zentis shows what this can look like with its latest product innovation. Together with Pano Verschluss GmbH, the traditional Aachen-based company has made the packaging of Zentis NaturRein fruit spreads even more sustainable: While the metal lid was already PVC-free (easily recognisable by the blue sealing ring), Zentis is now going one step further - and in future will only use PVC-free screw caps made of CO2-reduced steel for NaturRein. Zentis is thus the first jam manufacturer on the German market to use this material, which is produced in Germany.
Climate protection thought through further
"With PANO, we have a strong and competent partner at our side. The cooperation is an essential step in terms of climate protection - and completely in line with our ambitious sustainability strategy," emphasises Oliver Böcker, General Manager Brand at Zentis. The closure manufacturer PANO, founded in 1920, has a lot of experience in the area of sustainable business. With its consistent focus on energy-efficient production processes and the company-wide use of green electricity, PANO has managed to reduce its CO2 emissions at its company sites by more than 65 percent. The already PVC-free Blueseal® closures of Zentis NaturRein fruit spreads are now made of so-called Bluemint Stahl®. Thanks to the innovative steel manufacturing process, it is produced with up to 70 percent less CO2 than conventional lids made of packaging steel. This makes the NaturRein lid significantly more climate-friendly.
The topic of sustainability plays an important role, especially with Zentis NaturRein: Only three classic ingredients are used for the natural recipe, without the addition of artificial flavours or preservatives. At the same time, NaturRein is the first climate-neutral certified Zentis range. The Fair-to-Nature Initiative, which was specially launched, rounds off the basic idea of NaturRein: Zentis wants to give something back to nature and invests in various national and international environmental projects for this purpose. Brand manager Böcker emphasises: "With the innovative closure from our partner PANO, we are consistently continuing the philosophy of NaturRein - and also setting a striking example on the market for a more sustainable future."
